Day 3- Your First Love

My first love....So I suppose that I am to tell you about my first boyfriend right? Well, while I have "loved" several people over the course of my life, I can honestly say that I never truly really LOVED someone until I married my husband. Even while dating him and being engaged to him, I "loved" him, but we were still learning each other at that point.

Now, having been married for 3 years, and having a child together, I truly know what love is. My definition of Love has changed, or evolved I should say. Yes, I am in love with him as a man. I am attracted to him and we love each other in that manner, but I have learned what "Love" as God intended it, is.

"4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

I have thought I "loved" people before, but it wasn't real, true, selfless love. In my marriage I have learned how to love, and my understanding of real love has multiplied times a million since I had my son. My real "loves" are my husband, and my precious son. They have taught me how to really love. How to be selfless, how to protect, how to be patient, and kind. I am honored to love these people!
