Day 2- Meaning behind your blog name

My blog name is "Life As We Know it..." Normally people say "Life as we know it is over." This is how I felt as my life made a major shift as I became a mom! Not in the sense that Life is "over" but the life that I knew had dramatically change.

I have to admit, it was a difficult transition at the time. I was an emotional wreck. Caden being in the NICU for a week made me even more emotional, on top of the hormones going wacko after having a baby. I struggled with mild postpartum depression, and felt like I didn't "love being a mommy" like everyone said that I would.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my baby, but I was having a difficult time making the transition. I was crying all the time, and paired with a major lack of sleep, I was a wreck! During that first few weeks, I was thinking "What did I do? Is my life ever going to be normal?"

Normal has changed. Life as we KNEW it was indeed over. It is a good thing! Life now is busier. Life now smells like spit-up, formula, baby wipes & dirty diapers. Life now defines "Sleeping in" as 6:30 or 7:00. Life now looks like Babies R Us threw up in my living room. Hard? Sometimes! Blessed? Absolutely!

Life as we know it...is so much more than I ever deserved!
