We were so fortunate to score free tickets to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa! We have lived in the area for 4+ years and have never been! So today, we went. Me, J, Caden and both "Grammies." It was so much fun (I think I may have enjoyed it more than Cay) and it was super nice outside! I even got a nice tank top tan!
We first went to the bird aviary, where we were able to feed the birds. Caden LOVES birds. He shouts "Buuudss" every time he hears or sees a bird. I thought he would like to be able to see one up close. He wasn't so sure at first, but he was curious enough to watch them land on mine, and my mom's arms. He didn't want to get too close though!
We spent some time in the kid's area, where we visited the wallabies, and then put the kiddo in his swimsuit and let him have at it in the water area! He had a ton of fun, and was pretty brave, letting the water blast him right in the face.
We got some
fruit pearls which were really yummy, and low calorie (always a concern of mine!) and then we headed to the carousel. Caden, Jared and I rode together and then Grammy P and Grammy C took him for a second ride.
At that point my boy was pretty much done, as he hadn't had a nap, so we popped him in the stroller with a sippy of milk and he passed out. I am sad that he missed the giraffes which we saw, AND GOT TO FEED, next, but he totally needed a nap. I wanted to pet the giraffe so bad, but the nice high school age girl running the giraffe feeding, reminded me that I couldn't. So I fed him a few leaves of lettuce, and he totally licked my hand with his long purple tongue. I loved him!
We got to see a few more animals and then we headed home....well actually to the
taco bus, which you also must check out! SO GOOD! We had a lot of fun, but are so tired! Nighty night!
