Recently I have been wanting to get back to blogging! Not only do I want to blog about our family life, but also about crafts (which I have also been slacking on! Christmas crafts really took it outta me!), healthy cooking and fitness! So here I am, hopefully I can be more consistent with my blogging.
So let me update you all with a quick run through of the past ehhh 9 months (yes...I am that much of a slacker!) and of course some pictures!
Summer of 2011 began with a trip to VA to visit family, where Caden took his first steps! We drove all the way there, which was interesting with an 11 month old! On the way back from VA we met J's mom and aunt in Asheville, NC and did some sightseeing, and eating of course (they serve biscuits with EVERYTHING there!). The rest of the summer consisted of a lot of relaxing, and with Caden's 1st birthday party!
School started in mid August, and I was finding it a lot harder to go to work and leave my baby! My mom and sister moved down during the first week of school, which was exciting! J and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary in November with a weekend trip to St. Augustine, and basketball season started in late November as well.
We didn't go out of town for Christmas for the first time in a long time, because everyone was down here this year. It was nice to spend Christmas morning in our house, where Caden woke up to his first real (Little Tikes!) basketball hoop and a Rock n' Roll Elmo! It was not nice, however, that it was 70+ degrees. It is hard to feel Christmasey in 70 degree weather. I insisted in wearing a new sweater I got, because, you CAN'T wear a tanktop on Christmas!, and yeah...I was sweating all day!
Basketball continued through January, and J's team did really good, in spite of several injuries (ie. 3 broke left arms...yes 3 and yes...all left arms)! They were the conference co-champions and went on to play in a regional game, where unfortunately they couldn't make it happen.
Now we are just waiting for June! Every year we are waiting for June, but this year we are even more eager because in the middle of June we are heading to SWITZERLAND! Our 5th anniversary is this year, so we are celebrating early in the Alps, sans kiddo! I am a little nervous about that, but the time together will be awesome! And the cheese and chocolate won't be so bad either! Good thing we will be doing lots of hiking!
Wheeeww...so that's what's been up with us! Here are a few pictures just for fun!
