A new season!

I tried so hard to keep the blog updated during my pregnancy, and I failed towards the end. I decided to get back to it now that we are in a new season of our lives with our precious little Caden! I was looking for a verse to add to my blog and found Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 to be perfect.
"To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under the heavens:

A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck
up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a
time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a
time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to
refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence,
and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace."

This season in our lives has taught us so much in such a short time. My little Caden will be 10 weeks old in 2 days and boy have things changed! Life is not about us anymore, it centered around this little baby! It was hard at first. Not being able to eat dinner when you wanted to. Learning how to arrange my day around nap schedules. Actually having to find time to take a shower. And the hardest part....learning to adapt to life with no sleep.

But like the verse says, there is a time to every purpose! The purpose of this season has been, for me, learning how to be selfless. Not an easy lesson! Like I said...it was difficult at first! If I am to be honest, I must say, I didn't like it at first! As I look back over the past 10 weeks, I can say that things have definitely evolved, I am adapting to being a mom and though it still is hard at times, I wouldn't change it for anything!

Caden has brought so much joy to our lives! He is now a part of our family, and it is hard to remember life with just the two of us. It is also hard to believe that it has been 10 whole weeks! Woah...how did that happen??? How did my little 7lb peanut turn into a 12+lb eating machine??? He is really starting to develop a personality. He is beginning to smile & "talk" a little. I love saying goofy things to him to try and get him to smile!

His sleeping is getting a lot better too! He has, on occasion slept as much as 7 hours straight, but his average is about 4.5-5 hours, which isn't bad. Jared has been getting up with him for the first nighttime feeding, which is awesome. I still get up and make his bottle and re-swaddle him, but then I go back to bed. So, essentially, I get a whole night's sleep. Things are much easier when you are rested!

I stayed home with baby C for about 5 weeks and then went back to work mid-september. It was hard going back but it has been good for me to get up and get ready, put makeup on and all that good stuff (these things didn't happen everyday when I was staying home with him!) It is also reassuring that his grandma and aunt have been keeping him while we are at work!

Life is good! I hope to post my labor story soon! And lots of pictures of my precious son! My free time is limited, believe it or not!
