Easter Eggs!

Tonight I decided that Caden and I better dye Easter eggs soon, so we went for it!  I was looking online for the ratio of water to vinegar for the dye, and came across a cute idea for little ones!  Remember when you were a kid and you colored on the egg with a white crayon so that when you dyed it the color wouldn't stick to the white crayon and your design would show through?  Well at least that's what we used to do!

This idea is pretty much the same except you use colored crayons (because what toddler would think it was fun to draw on a white egg with a white crayon?) and you do it while the eggs are a little warm still (ok pretty hot....cue caden saying "hot" and blowing on the eggs to cool them!).  Because it is still hot warm, the color kinda melts on, and makes it really easy to draw on them.

So I gave my kid the hot warm eggs and let him scribble his little heart out!  After he scribbled on them, we dipped and dyed them.  They turned out super cute, and now I will have a little color to my usual boring (but clean and healthy) egg white and veggie lunch next week!
